When Formula One first started in the 1950's, it was known as the most dangerous sport, a sport in which the drivers were seen to have superhuman skills and for which they were greatly admired.

In over 50 years of existance, Formula One has experienced glorious times such as historical races, like in Donnington Park in 1993 or even in San Marino in 1982. It has also known dark times, such as the dark season of 1994 which took the lives of three time World Champion Ayrton SENNA Da SILVA and Roland RATZENBERGER, in that dark weekend in Imola, for the San Marino Grand Prix. Despite these experiences, there were those who wrote their names down in history as World Champions.

These great men include the ruthless Ayrton SENNA, the perfectionist Michael SCHUMACHER, the ambitious Jim CLARK or even the unbeatable Juan Manuel FANGIO.

Here is a tribute to all these great drivers, by presenting all the World Champions to date, while providing as well a brief summary of some of the greatest and darkest moments of Formula One's history.
